As the West Region ends for a while, and East region gets ready to start up ... In 250 West Supercross 2010, Jake Weimer and Trey Canard are showing a lot of confidence right now. I'm very impressed with both of these racers right now. This past race at Anaheim was a good example for both of them.
Series points leader Jake Weimer has a great heat race with a win, even after that heat was red-flagged. Jake had some trouble in the Main Event, but showed his smarts by charging hard the full 15 laps, coming up to eighth at the finish ... that could literally save his season and potentially the championship title.
Trey had some problems in his heat, but came back very strong in the final - he won the 250 Main in Anaheim. That shows a lot of maturity from him as a rider.

This year's AMA Motocross Banquet & Season Celebration was held in a magnificent banquet room at the Pala Resort & Casino. The room was decorated beautifully, lined with motocross dcor, as well as a stage decorated with the championship bikes and awards. The line-up of food, appetizers, desserts, and beverages was very elegant and delicious.
After dinner, the awards ceremony began. Jason Weigandt, along with Tim Cotter hosted the show. And of course Jason started it just like he does many of his shows - after slamming down an energy drink.
Jason went on to talk about each round of this summer's AMA Motocross Nationals, with a list of funny jokes pertaining to all the good and bad situations at each of the races. After that, the awards and trophies were handed out.
The night was filled with special memories, good times, and laughs. One poignant moment was when Kevin Windham accepted the award for 'Sportsperson of the Year'. Kevin always has a great way of expressing himself, but made a great comment towards his friend & the team manager, Mike LaRocco. He commented on Mike's motivation, that pushed Kevin to work hard and do his best ... it was touching, but at the same time very funny.

MXGirls was created based on the lack of knowledge and news in regards to women's motorsports 7 years ago. Back in 1999' the idea of Women Racers getting web and magazine exposure was extremely rare. I felt we (the MXGirls) needed a home base to come together and MXGirls.com was born. Here at MXGirls.com we like to help promote Pro and Amateur riders from around the world. We admire all levels and ages of riders; we appreciate the will to excel, strength to master, and the passion to win.
MXGirls.com is the homebase for Womens Motocross.
Enjoy and Please spread the word!
MXGirls.com Founder: Michele Johnson "MJ"
Welcome to MXGirls.com and my little part-time hobby since 1999. I am from Trabuco Canyon, California (The O.C, lol) and now I reside in Lake Mathews, California which is anywhere from 5-45 minutes to all top tracks in Southern California. I have been riding bikes my whole life, started on ATV's, Trail 90's, Quads and I've been stuck on 2 wheels for the past 9 years.
I enjoy riding tracks the most, but I definitely head out the Glamis Dunes, Johnson Valley, and Ocotillo Wells to get my desert riding fix a couple times a year.
I race in the Womens Motocross Association several times a year, but now I mostly ride for the love of the sport. I often race local races in the area such as Day in the Dirt, Lake Elsinore Grand Prix, and a handful of the other biggy races.
My favorite part about motocross is the friends I have generated through the year and the most amazing memories to keep me feeling young. I'm a wife of the perfect husband and a mother of a coolest little dude in the world.
For 2006 I'm riding for 3Bros Racing out of Temecula, CA. I have a awesome KTM 250SX which I run my FMF Racing Titanium PowerBomb, which kicked my bike into a super duper high performance level. For gear sponsors I'm running the THOR Racing Gear, Alpinestar Boots, and the THOR/Platinum 1 Painted Helmets.

The first Supercross of 2010 was spectacular, to say the least. Many of you know the first race starts with a few pre kick off parties, media events, and a big press conference the Thursday before the race.
It's kinda' like a big adventure for all of us at Supercross.com as we get set to embark on this remarkable 17 race journey across the country for the 2010 AMA / FIM Supercross Series!

Last year I won the TORC Pro 2 Off-Road Truck racing championship. This year I'm moving to the Pro 4 class.
What's the difference between Pro 2 and Pro 4? Pro 2 is two wheel drive. Pro 4 is four wheel drive.
With Pro 4 you can drive more aggressively - you can get on the gas more, because you have much more traction with all four wheels.
Also in 2011, I'm with a new team - Menzies. Plus I have help from Dodge, and Red Bull.
In this video below, this is one of the first times I started testing for 2011. It's a track at Glen Helen Raceway! (Home of the US MX GP)

Giant MTB team sweep the podium at the first round of the Pro GRT. Check the story out in the link below.
This 2010 Supercross season has gone exactly as no one expected. Everyone figured it was going to be a battle between the same two supercross 'titans' as last season - James Stewart and Chad Reed. Last year after 17 races they were the top two, with James the champion by four points over Chad.
To everyone's surprise, even their own, both are currently not racing - injured. They are watching what is essentially a 450 Supercross 'rookie' have a phenomenal year so far (Ryan Dungey).
A hidden treasure is not Ryan Dungey doing so well. I felt, as many others did, that he would have a great year. Based on the following: he's done well & won on a 450 before this season, all the confidence he had coming into this season from winning two championships in 2009 (the 250 West Lites Supercross, and the 250 AMA Outdoor Motocross) and his tremendous riding on a 450 for Team USA at the recent Motocross des Nations in Italy in October.

Ryan Morais' goal for a 2010 West Coast Lites Supercross championship came to a screeching halt in just the 3rd round of the series, when another racer landed on the back on his bike, sending both riders crashing to the ground. This unfortunate crash would sideline Ryan for a few rounds, but he would eventually return to racing action in Seattle and finish the season 10th overall points. When the AMA Motocross Nationals came into around, Ryan was ready to get back to racing, but going into the second round he was once again out with an injury. Ryan has been busy the past few months, but is back and ready to set some new goals for the upcoming 2011 series. I spoke with Ryan about what he learned over the past year and his prospects for the new season.
Angela: Well Ryan, here we are just a few short weeks until the first Supercross race of the season; let's talk about sponsors and the bike?
Ryan: Yeah, DC Shoes stepped up recently and is sponsoring the entire Rockstar Energy Suzuki Team, so I am really excited to be a part of it. I have only been with this sponsor for a few days now and they're really taken care of the team. I'm with the same team as last year, Rockstar Energy Suzuki, with the same mechanic (Rene Zapata), and the same team manager, and owner, everything is pretty much the same, but Suzuki really is stepping up this year. Last year we were on a 2009 carburetor bike, so we were kind of behind the ball, but this year we are on the new 2011 fuel injected, the whole new chassis and everything, and Suzuki has really helped us out with factory support. Our bikes are pretty much in house bikes, running Shoei Suspension, so everything is looking great. Everyone has been doing a great job and the people at Yoshimura have been doing a lot of testing and getting our bikes dialed in, so I'm excited for Anaheim 1. Our bike should be one of the best ones out there, making things really competitive, and that is very cool.

I was very impressed with the layout of the entire facility - the pits, the press, the track ... the entire presentation.
Everyone from Glen Helen Raceway - Dr. Bud Feldkamp (track owner) to Lori (track manager), their staff including Carl, Steve, Bob did a great job in representing the United States and California in having one of the greatest motocross tracks in America.
I sat with Dr. Wolfgang Srb, President of the FIM Motocross Commission, and he was very impressed with the preparation of everything as well, including the track, especially with the fact that the event was put on with 60 days notice. He thought everything was top notch, and is excited to have the event come back next year.
